About the CCA
West Grove Cub Scout Group develops students in an environment that is intellectually and physically stimulating as well as provides challenges for students to face and overcome.
CCA sessions are opportunities for adventures, learning life skills, games, craftwork and other Scouting skills – all while Cub Scouts make new friends. In doing so, they receive hands-on leadership experience.
Cubs earn badges as they go through the Cub Scout programme – namely in Scouting skills (Progress badges), personal skills (Proficiency badges) as well as commemorative badges for key events.
As the first line of the Scout Promise reads, “I promise to do my best” – West Grove Cub Scouts endeavor to overcome difficulties and do their very best in all things and at all times.
Key Learning Experiences
Develop teamwork and leadership skills through group activities and games
Learn practical life skills including first aid and basic survival techniques
Take part in values-based programmes and community service projects which encourage responsibility and service to others
Work towards proficiency badges and achievement awards through hands-on learning experiences and skill mastery.
Student Development
Through their participation in this CCA, students develop:
confidence and leadership through taking on responsibilities and participating actively in group activities
teamwork and communication skills through collaborating with peers during games and activities
responsibility and discipline by working towards badges and following routines
resilience and perseverance through overcoming challenges and learning new practical skills
care and respect for others through community service and values-based learning experiences.
