Cyber Wellness

Help your child stay safe online. Learn how the school's Cyber Wellness programme teaches students to use technology responsibly and navigate the internet with confidence.

What is Cyber Wellness?

Cyber Wellness is the ability of our children and youth to navigate the cyberspace safely.

This is done through our Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) curriculum which aims to:

  • equip students with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for positive purposes.

  • maintain a positive presence in cyberspace; and

  • be safe and responsible users of ICT.

Through the curriculum, your child learns knowledge and skills to have balanced screen use, be safe online, and exhibit positive online behaviours.

The Cyber Wellness curriculum is organised into 5 topics:

School Programmes 

  • Safer Internet Day 

The school commemorated Safer Internet Day 2026 in conjunction with Total Defence Day. The national theme for Safer Internet Day 2026 is “Practise Healthy Digital Habits Together”.

The theme encourages students to practice the 4 digital habits: 

a.      Set boundaries to manage screen use and online interactions

b.      Think before you act to safeguard digital footprint

c.      Report inappropriate content to keep everyone safe

d.      Engage a trusted person and seek support proactively 

  • Cyber Wellness Day 

WGPS’ Cyber Wellness Day is a dedicated effort to nurture safe, responsible, and confident digital citizens. Through an engaging assembly programme and thoughtfully designed classroom lessons, students learn the importance of cybersecurity and how to protect themselves in the online world. 

They are equipped with practical strategies to stay safe such as avoiding interactions with strangers, recognising fake links and scams, and safeguarding personal information. Students also learn to identify phishing attempts and deepfake content, practicing the habit of “Stop & Check” before clicking or sharing. Importantly, they are encouraged to seek help from trusted adults whenever they feel unsure, reinforcing a supportive environment for navigating the digital space safely.
